A number of meetings are held in collaboration with the Retired Members Surrey and are supported financially by the IET. These meetings are open to both members and non-members and are free to attend for all interested people.
Retired Members Surrey is a society formed by retired engineers residing in the Surrey area to meet socially and learn about technology related topics. Members are usually also members of the IET and participate in activities of the IET Surrey Local Area Network although membership of the two organisations is mutually independent. The society was founded in 1989 to enable members of the IET who have retired from their normal full-time occupations to keep in touch with former colleagues and to further the aims and traditions of the Institution by arranging regular meetings.
